Building fundamental skills and falling in love with the game
The St. Thomas Surge U7 (Paperweight) House League program is designed for young athletes turning 5 or 6 years old in the current season and introduces players to lacrosse in a fun, development-focused environment right here in the community. There are no tryouts for U7 House League, making it an accessible entry point for both new and returning players.
U7 House League builds fundamental skills while introducing structured gameplay, teamwork, and age-appropriate competition. Contact is modified at this division, allowing players to “place and push” on the ball-carrier’s arm, while off-ball contact is penalized at all times.

U7 players are required to wear full box lacrosse equipment, including a lacrosse stick, lacrosse gloves, a CSA-approved helmet with face mask, mouthguard, shoulder pads, arm and elbow guards, rib and/or back pads, and an athletic support and cup.
